Rollapaluza is a cycle sport like no other. Particpants battle it out on bike over a sprint distance at speeds in excess of 50mph. Accompanied by music, MC and cheering crowds.

We had Capser and Jake of the Rollapaluza team come to St. George's on Wednesday 4th July, 2018 and the children of Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 battled it out to see who could get the fastest time over a 250 metre distance.

Here are some comments from the children:

Yesterday two men came to school with bikes.  We went into the hall and they showed us what to do.  I went on the white bike an raced with Ricardo.  Ricardo won but I still had fun.

Tyler K (Year 2)

On Wednesday, every class had a bike race.  It was in the hall at 2.10 in the afternoon.  I was racing with Mariana and I won out of me and Mariana.  I enjoyed going as fast as I could.

Fay-Kathleen (Year 4)

Yesterday in PE, we rode on bike machines.  You had to pedal as fast as you could.  The pedals were connected to a clock.  The faster you pedalled, the quicker the hand moves.  There were two bikes, one for the taller person and one for the shorted person (we had partners).  It was a great PE lesson and I achieved a time of 21.32 seconds!  I'd love to try again and beat my score.
