Cookery club is a great way to learn new recipes for your family. We will aim to upload the weekly recipe to our website so your children can recreate the menu at home, with you, for you to enjoy together.

Spring 1: Year 4 are currently attending cookery club.

On Wednesday, year 4 learned to cook the very tasty chicken tikka pizzas – very yummy!

Here is the recipe:

Chicken Tikka Pizza

4 Plain Naan breads
Tikka masala sauce (150g)
Red onion
Green Pepper
Chicken tikka pieces
50g Mozzarella cheese

Knife, chopping board, baking tray and a spoon.

*  Preheat the oven at 200oC or gas mark 6.
*  Spread the tikka sauce onto the naan breads.
*  Chop onions and peppers into small pieces.
*  Place onions, peppers and chicken pieces onto the naan bread.
*  Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
*  Place onto a baking tray and bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until crisp and hot.

On Wednesday, year 4 made some delicious marbles mufins.

Here’s the recipe to have a go:

Marble Muffins:

2 cups of self-raising flour
½ bag of chocolate chips
½ bag of white chocolate chips
2 eggs
1 cup of caster sugar
3 teaspoons of butter
1 cup of milk
Muffin cases

Baking tray, teaspoon, and dessertspoon, mixing bowl, wooden spoon, saucepan, sieve and a fork.

*  Sieve 2 cups of self-raising flour into a mixing bowl.
*  Add the sugar and the chocolate chips.
*  Beat 2 eggs and pour into the mixing bowl.
*  Add 1 cup of milk.
*  Melt the butter in a saucepan on a low heat until melted and add to the mixture.
*  Stir mixture until all the ingredients are mixed together, don’t over stir.
*  Put to dessertspoons of mixture into each muffin case. (Don’t over fill).
*  Place in the oven at 350F, 180C for 15-20 minutes.

On Wednesday, 28th January, we made chicken fajitas:

Chicken Fajitas:

Fajita mix
3 mixed peppers
1 onion
Chicken breast
Stir-fry oil
Tortilla Wraps

Wok, chopping board, colander, knife, spatula

*  Wash peppers.
*  Chop peppers into thin slices.
*  Chop onion into small pieces.
*  Slice chicken breast into thin slices.
*  Heat stir fry oil in the wok.
*  Fry off chicken for about 8-10 mins until golden brown.
*  Add peppers and onions; fry off for a few minutes.
*  Place mix from fajita pack into the wok, warm through for a few minutes.
*  Prepare fajita wraps; buy placing them in foil and putting into the oven for 10 minutes on gas mark or 180oC.
*  Place mixture onto fajitas with the salsa sauce from the pack and serve.
